At the recently concluded 17th Structural Engineering Conference and 7th Earthquake Engineering Conference, we were honored to be invited to share our research and practical experiences on the "Full Life Cycle of Seismic Isolation Buildings." The conference brought together numerous experts, scholars, and industry professionals from both domestic and international spheres to discuss the latest topics in structural and earthquake engineering. The atmosphere was vibrant, with enthusiastic exchanges both inside and outside the venue, reflecting the high level of interest and passion for structural safety and earthquake mitigation technologies.
During our presentation on the "Full Life Cycle of Seismic Isolation Buildings," we delved into the entire process from design and construction to maintenance and management, emphasizing the critical role of seismic isolation technology in enhancing building resilience. The attendees showed great interest in the topic, particularly representatives from government departments, academia, and industry, who actively engaged in in-depth discussions and asked insightful questions after the session. This positive response not only demonstrates that seismic isolation technology is increasingly becoming a focal point in Taiwan’s construction industry but also underscores the urgency and importance of promoting this technology.
Looking ahead, we plan to strengthen our collaboration with the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering and the Taiwan Society of Building Seismic Isolation and Energy Dissipation. Our goal is to drive the development of the seismic isolation market in Taiwan. We firmly believe that through such cross-sector cooperation, we can more effectively promote advanced seismic isolation technologies and apply them to a broader range of public and private buildings, thereby enhancing Taiwan’s overall earthquake resilience and the durability of its structures.
The successful conclusion of this conference has undoubtedly injected new energy into Taiwan’s structural and earthquake engineering fields. We look forward to continuing our participation and support for such high-caliber academic exchange events in the future, working together to advance Taiwan’s progress and innovation in structural and earthquake engineering, and contributing to the creation of a safer and more resilient living environment. This experience will serve as a driving force for our future efforts, and we eagerly anticipate the next conference, where we hope to join hands again in promoting the widespread adoption and development of seismic isolation technology in Taiwan.
